What Defines Commercial Lending?


Essentially any loan which is for the purpose of business or involves non residential property is considered “commercial” and is transacted via the commercial area of the lenders. Even if the security is residential and the purpose is for business or commercial property, then it is deemed “commercial”.


The main types of commercial finance:
  • Property Purchase for Owner Occupied or Investment

  • Development Finance

  • Business Finance
    1. Purchasing an existing business,
    2. Starting up a new business,
    3. Expanding an existing business, or
    4. Providing working capital for an existing business.

  • Equipment Finance (EF)
